Nested Bowl Set

$600.00

A set of three bowls, all turned from the same box elder burl. The process of creating a set like this includes removing cores from the “mother” blank so that each bowl is made from the center of its next largest neighbor.

The wood here is highly figured burl, full of amazing swirls and grain changes. The set is turned with a natural edge, preserving the bark of the tree along each bowl’s rim.

I usually strive for functional art, but because of the attached bark, this set is poorly suited to food service. It is perfect for display, or for display non-food items like a collection of gathered rocks, pine cones, or whatever other treasures attract your attention.

Bowl sizes are 11" x 3-1/4", 9" x 2-3/4", 7" x 1-3/4".
